Lynnhurst “Blooming Alleys” Tour – join us!

bloomingalleyThurs. Sept. 8
5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Meet at 5101 Logan Ave S to start the tour

Come see the first Blooming Alleys projects in the Lynnhurst Neighborhood and rediscover back alleys. The idea is to look beyond garbage cans and garages and envision alleys as inviting, ecologically-friendly community spaces. That’s what neighbors on five blocks in Lynnhurst did last spring when they started planning their alley makeover as part of a project called Lynnhurst Blooming Alleys for Minnehaha Creek. This is alley beautification with a green mission: to create lovely neighborhood spaces that incorporate strategies to reduce stormwater runoff and promote native habitat.

Metro Blooms will lead a tour of the alley between Logan & Knox Ave S and 51st & 52nd Sts. and will be available before and after the tour to answer questions. Arrive by 5:30 and join us for a happy hour beverage and snack as the tour begins.

B.Y.O.U – Bring Your Own Umbrella because this event is scheduled for rain or shine.  Rain would provide practical demonstrations of stormwater diversion.
